Job Title: Team Leader

Reports To: Teller Manager

FLSA: Non-exempt



To insure members receive friendly, accurate, and timely assistance. Actively sell credit union products and services to ensure predetermined organizational goal are met. Adheres to all policies, procedures, and standard practices. Adheres to Federal and State Laws and Regulations.
Employee shall demonstrate an understanding of, and follow the requirements of all regulation compliance, including but not limited to those of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Member Due Diligence (MDD) as it specifically relates to their job functions. Employee shall be trained annually in BSA/AML compliance.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

45% Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, E and loan payments; sells money orders, cashier checks and gift checks and travelers checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed.

10% Trains and monitors the work of other tellers; coordinates teller activities. E

10% Assists tellers with questionable member transactions and balancing of cash drawers. E

10% Adheres to internal control, security & safety procedures E

10% Balances cash drawer and daily transactions. E

5% Assists Teller Supervisor in daily operations, including but not limited to, CDMS, ATM, Night Deposit Transactions and FED Cash Shipments. E

4% Balances Visa, MasterCard, and Money Order sales to general ledger. E

2% Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input and N answering the telephone.

2% Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services and directs N members to appropriate departments for specific information and service.

2% Performs other related duties as assigned. N



1. To maintain a high skill level among tellers.

2. To ensure tellers provide friendly, professional, personal service to all members.

3. To schedule tellers to meet member demand at a minimum of cost.

4.To balance in compliance with teller balancing standards.

5. To handle an average of at least 150 transactions per day.

6. To have no more than one posting error per month.

7. To display a good attitude and professional work performance.

8. To make rational and realistic decisions.


Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Six months to two years of similar or related experience.

Education: Equivalent to a high school education.

Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.

Other Skills: Must have good communication skills for training other tellers. 10-key calculator and computer keyboard skills. Accurate with cash, numbers and names.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to electronics work. May require periodic travel. There is exposure to potential hazardous conditions such as robbery. Employees are to receive detailed instructions and procedures to follow in order to minimize risk.
