Role:

The Human Resources Specialist handles and provides support for various HR employee programs within the organization. This position carries out responsibilities, within but not limited to, the following functional areas: recruitment/employment, employee relations, onboarding, training, performance management, benefits, and payroll.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

40%

Assists with recruitment and hiring efforts for all personnel to include managing candidate pools and recruiting channels; advertising positions; reviewing/vetting resumes; conducting interviews; extending job offers; maintain resumes and application database; and manages candidate correspondence.

15%

Assists with the day to day administration of benefit programs to include communications, enrollment, terminating and modifying employee benefit coverage. Serves primary resource for employee benefit questions or requirements.

Provides service support to management in job creation and job evaluation processes to include job descriptions, job grading and evaluation.

10%

Assists and maintains FMLA and disability claims; Provides service support to employees and managers as needed.

Routinely audits personnel files and employment law postings for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and applicable federal and state laws.

Provides HR service support to employees and managers; assists with general HR inquiries and interpretation of HR policies, Trouble shoots and resolves issues in relation to HR inquiries.

Assists Human Resources Manager with HR projects as needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

To be trained annually in BSA/AML compliance.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience

Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education

Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field) or relevant experience.

Interpersonal Skills

Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Other Skills

Good written and verbal communication skills are required.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to electronics work. May require periodic travel. There is exposure to potential hazardous conditions such as robbery. Employees are to receive detailed instructions and procedures to follow in order to minimize risk.
