Role:

Reporting to the VP of Business Analysis and Strategy this position works as a member of the Business Analysis and Strategy department. This position will be responsible for data integrity, data management, and building a centralized data management framework that will be utilized by the various business units. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

30% Designs, develops, optimizes, tests and maintains data architecture and pipelines that adhere to ETL principles and business goals that integrate data from multiple sources into a centralized data management framework.

30% Performs tasks related to data ETL, data structuring and cleaning, data pipeline creation and avoidance of data outages.

10% Translates and documents business requirements into technical specifications for data integration, transformations, databases and data warehouses.

10% Collaborates, educates, and provides support with various business units, stakeholders, team members and external vendors.

10% Solves complex data problems to help business users deliver meaningful, accurate data visualizations.

5% Understands rules on data, privacy and security, business strategies and processes to ensure quality of data.

5% Performs other duties as assigned. 

Performance Measurements: 

1.  Performs duties and responsibilities in a timely and professional manner.

2.  Conducts communications with reporting manager to advise on problems, issues and/or service interruptions impacting the credit union’s ability to obtain, consume and/or retrieve data.

3.  Collaborates with business units, stakeholders, team members and vendors in a professional manner.

4.  Demonstrates an understanding of, and follow the requirements of all regulation compliance, including but not limited to those of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Member Due Diligence (MDD) as it specifically relates to their job functions. Employee shall be trained annually in BSA/AML compliance. 

Knowledge and Skills: 

Experience

2-5 years of experience in designing, building and maintaining ETL processes geared towards delivering Business Intelligence. 2+ years of experience in data modeling, data warehouse design, or related areas. 2-5 years of experience with SQL in an analytical or data engineering role. Working knowledge in Python and R are preferred. 

Education

(1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree). 

Interpersonal Skills

Work frequently involves exercising advanced conflict resolution, giving material presentations, and resolving issues impacting multiple departments or divisions. Role also requires the ability to motivate or influence others as a material part of the role, with a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the role and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position. 

Other Skills

Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and self-learning skills. Familiarity with financial products and services is desirable. 

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. 

Work Environment

Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to electronics work. May require periodic travel. There is exposure to potentially hazardous conditions such as robbery. Employees are to receive detailed instructions and procedures to follow in order to minimize risk.
