Role:
Reporting to the VP of Lending, this lending position is responsible for developing and managing the commercial loan portfolio. As part of a team, this lending position will be responsible for sourcing new relationships and growing the loan and deposit portfolio of the Business Services Department.
In addition to lending responsibilities, the Commercial Loan Officer will assist the members when needed in opening, closing and maintaining commercial accounts; closing commercial loans and maintaining proper documentation and reviews of commercial loans. It will require a close working relationship with the CUSO in both development and implementation of business services including loan and deposit accounts. An understanding of Financial Analysis Procedures is desirable but not mandatory.
The Commercial Loan Officer will also support and assist the Business Services Specialist in the daily operations of the commercial loan department including interacting with a commercial members with their deposit and loan requests; assisting in preparing, presenting, closing and monitoring commercial loan requests and developing and maintaining business loan service relationships to help support loan operations.
With support from Business Development, this position will also be responsible for contacting businesses and corporations to determine need for business services and loans within their operations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
50% Procurement of commercial business relationships including solicitation for new loans and deposits
15% Commercial account management to include review and monitoring of financial statements and other support documentation. Including opening, closing, and maintaining commercial accounts.
15% Provides supervisory support and assistance to the Business Services Specialist
10% Maintains appropriate records and reports related to the commercial loan and deposit operations.
5% Cross sells credit unions, products and services as determined by monthly department manager.
5% Performs other duties as assigned.

Demonstrates an understanding of, and follow the requirements of all regulation compliance, including but not limited to those of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Member Due Diligence (MDD) as it specifically relates to their job functions. Employee shall be trained annually in BSA/AML compliance.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience
Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.
Education
(1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).

Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Other Skills
Good verbal & written communication skills, basic computer skills, including knowledge or word and excel software.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to electronics work. May require periodic travel. There is exposure to potential hazardous conditions such as robbery. Employees are to receive detailed instructions and procedures to follow in order to minimize risk.
